The Examiner : Good morning, please sit down.

Me : Thank you, good morning !

The Examiner : Can you introduce yourself and tell me a few things about yourself.

Me : Yes, of course. My name is Manon and I'm eighteen years old. At the moment, I'm doing my second-year post-A-level diploma to be a laboratory technician, in Angers at Jean Moulin high school. But I live in Moreac, which is near Lorient.

The Examiner : Ok, and what do you like doing most in this field ?

Me : I like carrying out tests, looking for and understanding how bacteria work and their consequences on the environment or on humans. Moreover, studying immunology techniques is very interesting because these techniques are used every day in the medical field. And now that I understand more things, things seem more logical to me.

The Examiner : And your work placement, in which field did you do it ?

Me : I did it in a laboratory of a food-processing factory.

The Examiner : Did you find your work placement in first year easily ?

Me : No, actually I'd sent my letters of application early but I received only negative answers. So, I'd continued to send letters, and two months before the placement, I received a positive answer. I was lucky because this work placement was not far from my home.

The Examiner : Was there a good atmosphere at work ? Were your colleagues nice ?

Me : Yes, my colleagues were very nice and helpful so the atmosphere was good. Moreover, the laboratory is a small lab, and there are only two women who are working as laboratory technicians. So it's more easily to integrate the group.

The Examiner : And for you, what was the most interesting ?

Me : Everything concerning the placement was interesting ! It allowed me to discover professional life and to learn a lot of things about working in a laboratory. I'd never done a job placement before, so it allowed me to gain a lot of experience.

The Examiner : So, what do you plan to do after you get your Higher National Certificate ?

Me : After graduating, I will continue my studies and I will try to enter an engineering school.

The Examiner : In which field ?

Me : I want to further my knowledge in biology because I want to work in medical research. This is a large sector which requires a lot of knowledge, so I have to continue my studies for the moment if I want to reach my target.

The Examiner : Do you think you are made for this kind of job ?

Me:I am really interested in this type of work because I am a meticulous person, and I like discovering things, trying to understand and interpret results,.. And nowadays, when we see all the diseases which still have no cure, we have to become involved in research. So, I want to participate in medical progress.

The Examiner : Right, now let's speak about the text.
